Description

Original framed oil on board painting by Thomas Charles Leeson Rowbotham 1823-1875. Son and pupil of Thomas Leeson Scarse Rowbotham, he was influenced by Turner snd praised by Ruskin. He is represented in numerous public collections, including the V&A and Royal Academy. Associate of the Royal Institute of painters in Watercolour, he succeeded his father as Professor of Drawing at The Royal Naval School, Greenwich.  Signed Wensleydale, Yorks
